Job Description

Scope of work:

  • The HR Director will develop and implement HR strategy for the company in Iraq in line with company and group strategy.
  • Lead HR function at country level covering all business entities across Country.
  • Act as an advisor/reference to CEO and the leadership team in all HR related matters, focal point of contact with the Region/Group HR function.


  • Governance and Compliance
    - Ensure all HR processes and practices are compliant and in line with Country labor law and company policies and practices.
    - Ensure all contracts are documented and legally checked.
    - Ensure implementation of all Internal control requirements across HR function.
  • Strategy Development
    - Develop strategic directions for HR function based on company and Group strategy.
    - Drive the implementation of HR strategy and develop proper measurement KPI’s.
    - Partner with Country Leadership team to achieve all business strategic objectives.
  • Organization Efficiency
    - Lead regular organizational reviews to ensure having the right set up and size that serve business objectives across country.
    - Ensure the right talents availability at the right cost.
    - Develop local talents succession for leadership team across country.
  • Talent Management and Succession
    - Capitalize on company value proposition in attracting the right talent.
    - Ensure succession for key roles inside the company.
    - Promote and lead D&I in the organization.
    - Continuously develop the Comp.& Benefits strategy and practices to reward and attract good talents.
    - Have a healthy turnover rate within the international accepted rates.
    - Lead talent identification process at country level
    - Ensure continuous learning & development of key talents within the organization
  • Performance Management
    - Ensure effective performance management process is in place.
    - Lead the process of objectives alignment at country leadership team level.
    - Ensure a Proper Rewarding and Recognition system that promotes for Performance.
  • HR Function Efficiency  
    - Assess HR Function efficiency and propose actions to improve.
    - Continuously develop the HR team and ensure effective implementation of HR strategy by the team.
    - Ensure HR Policies, Procedures and practices are of International organizations standards.
    - Ensure people cost at country level is well optimized to best practices and benchmarks.
  • Health and Safety
    - To promote and contribute positively to achieving the company H&S culture and mindset.
    - Act as a role model in H&S Performance, be actively present in field to demonstrate H&S leadership.
    - Along with leadership team, Sponsor the implementation of HSIP at country level.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor degree in Business or Human Resources Management, MBA would be preferred.
  • Total experience of 15 years in HR domain of which minimum 10 years in Management level with multinational organizations.
  • Strong business sense and strategic thinking.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong Leadership skills.
  • Decision making especially at the strategic levels.
  • Good financial acumen and budgeting skills.
  • Able to operate comfortably with a large diverse team with understanding of cultural sensitivities.
  • Relationship building & ability to network effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to frequent travel inside the country visiting operating plants.
  • Fluency in English, Arabic and Kurdish Would be a plus.
