Role Purpose:
Define and oversee the execution of the Group’s supply chain strategy. Plan, manage and optimize the supply chain cycle, maximize efficiency in a cost-effective manner, and ensuring downstream and upstream operations are in synchronization with business requirements.
Accountabilities:
Scope 1: Supply Chain Management Framework:
- Establish the necessary business infrastructures that ensure supply chain operations run smoothly.
- Develop the supply chain management strategy making sure current processes and systems meet existing and future requirements to improve productivity, reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Set goals, parameters, and actions to be implemented to ensure the optimum functioning of the logistics chain.
- Lead, manage and direct all aspects of the supply chain management which include procurement, logistics, inventory management, material forecasting, sourcing, inventory control and financial costing.
- Oversee the development of Supply Chain policies and procedures, as well as the design and implementation of related processes and performance measurement models.
- Guide the development and implementation of new systems, practices, controls, and other optimizations to grow the business across the entities.
- Identify, assess, and select potential improvement projects through close coordination with the Senior Management as approved by the CEO.
Scope 2: Supply Chain Management:
- Leading the Supply Chain Planning process in line with the set financial targets of the plants including supply and demand forecasting, inventory management and on-time stock availability and delivery.
- Manage inventory and establish controls to ensure the Group is operating at the highest level of performance based on key performance metrics and minimized supply chain risk.
- Collaborate with concerned stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
- Manage the daily and long-term plant operations in terms of supply chain. This includes purchasing, sourcing, shipping, receiving, inventory.
- Optimize supply chain-related costs by performing monthly checks on landed cost and improving clearance processes.
- Ensure on-going alignment between Senior Management and major stakeholders by sharing needed information and synchronizing objectives to overcome occurring challenges.
- Set the procurement needs with the procurement managers and ensure purchasing orders are being executed throughout the year without deviation from set objectives.
- Ensure proper data is maintained on the system through close monitoring and alignment with the standard operating procedures and data flow.
Scope 3: Logistics Operations Management:
- Establish appropriate costing practice for the warehousing and distribution operation to improve performance tracking.
- Oversee weekly inventory levels versus target stocks report to strategically assist the business in reaching set targets.
- Manage the distribution of received goods, ensuring optimal warehousing and delivery practices while controlling related profit and loss.
- Develop service levels measurements for the warehousing and distribution operation to initiate potential improvements.
- Implement Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Standards based on the recommendations of the QHSE team.
Scope 4: Supplier Relationship Management:
- Identify and assess new international suppliers for raw materials, non-raw materials, and machinery while maintaining positive relationships with existing ones.
- Guide the procurement managers in identifying new shipping and distribution agreements; identify optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
- Oversee the preparation of documentation and invoice related to shipments and insurance for stock replenishment negotiate price to obtain ultimate deals.
- Monitor the performance of suppliers by assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements and generate scorecards for each supplier to enhance the supply chain cycle.
- Identify new suppliers in collaboration with concerned stakeholders.
Leadership/ Managerial Accountabilities:
Scope 1: Budgeting and Planning:
- Manage the budget planning and monitor its implementation once approved by the CEO.
- Set the annual business plan (goals, KPIs and targets) of the department while ensuring timely submission for CEO approval.
- Oversee the implementation of set plan by the team across the Group to ensure predefined targets are met by monitoring, on a quarterly basis, the achievements and ensuring adherence to the approved budget.
Scope 2: Team Management:
- Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to the team members across the Group while maintaining frequent communication through regular meetings, keeping them informed and updated on the Group’s vision/mission. Ensuring smooth flow of operations and achieving business results.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field, Masters is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and logistics.
- MS Office – Advanced level, WHSE Management System- Advanced.
- Excellent command of English, Arabic and French.
