Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide electrical technical and management expertise, electromechanical coordination, resolution of engineering problems, site coordination, management & progress follow up. Ensure the standard quality of Shop drawings, materials submittals and procurement process.

Tasks and Duties:

  • Assign duties and follow up with site engineers and site supervisors.
  • Review design systems and specifications Vs Shop drawings, incorporating power distribution, grounding, lighting, control systems, and equipment specification and selection
  • Take responsibility for electrical engineering tasks, and confirm/verify calculations and analysis.
  • Able to establish design criteria and prepare procurement specifications when needed.
  • Participate in studying cost saving subjects when needed or requested such as preparing relevant value engineering.
  • Able to Supervise the electrical engineering works of the subcontractors and to prepare short term contracts for them when needed.
  • Review all the received shop drawings and materials once received from Beirut office prior to the official submission.
  • Able to Prepare work plan and organize / recruit resources to complete the work within period.
  • Able to prepare and/or to check the development of method statements for Power & Low current electrical systems taking into consideration each project specifications.
  • Ensure that a variation order is prepared & submitted for any additional and/or requested subjects.
  • Analyze / Define engineering problems and offer resolution.
  • Follow up with local authorities and concerned parties (Bnetd, bureau de controle, consultants) to get the materiel & shop drawings approval.
  • Ensure that the comments of the Local authorities and concerned parties (Bnetd, bureau de controle, consultants) are shared with our Beirut office to update where it is necessary.
  • Ensure that the materiel submittals are as per the specs to avoid the submission of undefined materials.
  • Materials should be well coordinated with the site conditions prior to the purchase order.
  • Should be able to do the necessary take off and to ensure that the materials take off are as per the approved shop drawings & materials.
  • PC’s are a must prior to any purchase order.
  • Materials take off should be compared with lambert stock prior to any purchase order to avoid stocking and apply savings.
  • Any purchase order should be well compared with the BOQ estimated budget prior ordering.
  • Good recognition of the NF codes is needed especially for the power & fire alarm systems.
  • Ensure that all drawings are up to date and that need a daily update regarding any site modifications.
  • Ensure that all Detailed installations are shared with the site team to guarantee the quality and the proper installation.
  • Ensure that the power schedule and the single power line are as per the latest electromechanically materials selection. Coordinate with architectural trades and mainly mechanical team.
  • Able to work and follow up many sites.
  • Good communication skills with the site team are a must to ensure productivity and to avoid disturbance.
  • Ensure that a list of blocking points for each project is up to date and to be submitted monthly.
  • Ensure that Materials & shop drawings log sheets are up to date and any delays should be notified to the client.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering.
  • Fifteen years experience in electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Fluent in French & English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Primavera, MS project).
  • Must be adept in the use of Internet and E-mail.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD software.
  • Reasonable knowledge about construction and designing principles.
