Job Summary:
The Financial Controller (Controller) is a senior executive responsible for leading the financial strategy, governance, reporting, treasury, and performance management of a multi-entity automotive group operating across distribution, retail, aftersales, mobility, and related services. The role ensures strong profitability, liquidity, disciplined capital allocation, robust internal controls, and high-quality financial reporting. The financial Controller acts as a strategic business partner to the CEO, supporting growth initiatives, operational excellence, and shareholder value creation. This role requires strong leadership, deep finance expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and complex business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Finance Leadership: Partner with CEO on financial strategy and business planning. Support pricing, investment, expansion, and restructuring decisions. Evaluate new business opportunities and capital deployment.
- Financial Performance Management: Own budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecasts. Monitor revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, net profit, and ROI. Lead monthly business reviews and variance analysis. Drive accountability across business units
- Treasury & Cash Flow: Manage liquidity, banking relationships, facilities, and financing lines. Monitor FX exposure and funding requirements.
- Reporting & Control: Deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated reporting under IFRS. Ensure accurate multi-entity / multi-currency consolidations. Maintain strong controls, governance, and financial discipline.
- Risk Management & Governance: Identify business and financial risks. Implement mitigation plans.
- Leadership & Organization: Lead, coach, and develop finance team. Build high-performance culture. Upgrade systems, reporting tools, and capabilities. Ensure succession planning.
- Stakeholder Management: Present performance to shareholders / board / lenders. Support Group CFO on strategic reporting matters. Maintain trusted relationships with banks, auditors, and advisors. Lead financial planning and analysis, and management reporting.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA (required).
- Min 8-10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Min 4–5 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior-level accounting leadership role.
- Prior experience in a multi-entity / holding company environment is highly preferred.
- Expert or advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics), consolidation and financial reporting tools, data analysis software.
- Awareness of cybersecurity strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools is a plus (Power BI, Tableau).
- English and Arabic, French is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in IFRS.
- Strong experience in multi-entity financial consolidation and group-level reporting.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to lead and develop a large finance team.
- Experience in managing external audits and serving as liaison with external parties.
